RX-2 Clutch hydraulics

The master on my RX-2 is going out.
I'm looking for a new master and slave. Not just a rebuild kit.

Do any of you guys know where I can buy one, or which new years are interchangeable?

I appreciate any help.

79-85 or even the FC along with the soft lines. with the 1st gen clutch master, you will need to remove the stud. you will see what Im talking about. With my cars, I replaced all of the hardlines also

Great. That takes a load off of me.

I also need shocks for it... Do 79-85 shocks fit it as well?

Also, when my brother took it to get aligned, they guy said that it was rusted out or worn or something - to the point that if he aligns it, it will pop out of alignment in 10 seconds. Any ideas on that?

Thanks a lot.

RX2's use strut assy's, like what's in Honda's etc. You may be able to find some Koni inserts for sale laying around. I think Re speed sells the insert spacer so that you can use the first gen strut inserts as well.

As for your alignment, your most likely going to have to rebuild your front suspension/steering. You can get everything but the pitman arm from Australia- search Ebay- on the pitman arm I had to send my old one to Rare Parts and have them rebuild it. Do a search in this forum, there are many threads related to these questions you have asked and that is why you have not had many hits on your thread other than Wacky because he has nothing else better to do.

I thought some of the Aussie front end parts were off due to their cars being RHD, or have they started making US spec front end pieces? Where did you get them if so? I only ask because my pal and I are about to drive over to Rare Parts to see if they will make us a batch of new front end parts. I think I have most of the parts new for them to use as templates (if needed), but if they are already available it's sort've pointless.

As mentioned in my post above, all the Aussie front end parts work except for the pitman arm because they have right hand drive. Search Ebay for RX2 suspension/steering parts and it should come up.

When I replaced the shocks on my RX2 I used an insert spacer from RESpeed with 1st gen RX7 strut inserts and front Miata shocks in the back of the car. I test fit a set of rear shocks for the Miata and found them to be way to short.

I replaced my slave a couple weeks ago. I went out for a ride today and clutch goes to floor then I have to pump it and pedal comes back. So now I have to change the master, thank's for the info.
