Rotary Starlet

hi, my first post here.
Big rotary fan... thought Id share my FRIEND'S Rotary Starlet with you all.

in one pic, its idling 'calmly' at 2200 rpms.
I forgot to take a picture when he pegged the tach at 12k RPMs though.
The paint scheme emulates that of another Rotary Starlet in Puerto Rico.

note, this is NOT a daily driver
it is a track car.
the paint job is so it stands out at the track.
and it actually looks pretty cool in person
its airbrushed and it has about 10 coats of clearcoat.
the engine has 1 mile on it

spec sheet
1981 KP61 Toyota Starlet
13x8" rear, 13x5" front
Airbrushed graphics with multiple clearcoat
12A rotary
J-bridge ported
straight exhaust with a cherry bomb
Holley 4bbl 600cfm carburetter
Stock ignition with dual Accel boosters.
SA22C RX-7 5 speed.
No Rev limiter
"Engine will run to 15k before it starts to break up"
"She's never gone over 180°F"

Nice car. Did it come from Toyota with a rotary engine or was that put in later?

HHMMM I got a right hand drive starlet like that but with a 4AG engine in it. I was thinking of putting a rotary in it so it would be a car I could be proud of.

What did he do for motor mounts and drive shaft all that ****.

Chapel: I'm surprised it took you so long to put this up on this forum.
Ranzo: Getting a driveshaft done up shouldn't be too hard. All you need is a shop that will cut one up and balance it. A shop with some imagination shouldn't have a problem dreaming up some mounts. Last time I was at Q-Power on 329 they were finishing up a Pepto-Bismol pink Starlet with a CA18DET swap. Power/weight is where it's at.
