That last one (rotary into Opel GT) has been done, with a 12A from a first gen RX7.
I'd guess you could swap a rotary into a Manta just as easily or hard. Room won't be a problem, but of course a few mods would be needed to mount the engine, and maybe the gearbox. Or to adapt the opel box to the Mazda engine. But everything is possible.
It'd be great to see a rotary Manta. I really like the Manta A series (first ones) so a rotary one would be very appealing.

GT rotary happening NOW
I just sold my Manta, but I also just picked up a rebuilt/ported 12a from an rx3 to go into my Opel GT.
I was going to do the 13b, but price and convience just won out.
The Manta would actually allow for much more motor like a 13b with Turbo as the engine bay is wider.

Say, have I mentioned I have two Mantas? And a couple of extra 13b's?
While the GTs are neat, the Manta's/Ascona's are much better handling cars. They used to give the BMWs, Alfas, Porsches a terrible time back in the old Trans Am days.
The Manta engine bay is fairly big. The only two concerns are the radiator (the mounting area is a bit narrow, so some sheetmetal work is necessary) and the front swaybar. The swaybar mounts kind of high back by the bellhousing and is used as a locator for the lower control arms. Probably just a matter of positioning the Mazda engine and trans (don't bother trying to mate up to the Opel trans, as nice as they are 150hp is the limit for spirited driving and they are only 4spds) and then selecting the right motor/trans mounts.

Here is a pic of my friend Calvin's Manta:
It has an Opel 1.9 bored and stroked to 2.4, Chevy valves, BIG cam, and sidedraft Webers, seriously lightened flywheel, tubular headers, and ITB or IT4 suspension.
On the other hand, here is my current GT:
European Opel 2.0, slightly lightened flywheel, 38DGAS Weber, Pertronix, big brakes from 75 Manta, stainless brake lines, three row radiator. Soon to have swaybars!

Wonderfull! I always loved Manta A's and GT's! There's a beautiful Manta A parked in the street around the corner here, so I always pass by when I go to work. It's just so nice.
This is a litlle something I found, maybe you already read it, but I guess some people might be intrested in it?

There are two rotary GT's that I know of. Both of them seem like very nice cars. That might be the one down in the southwest of the US.
A couple of the members on opelgt.com are from Belgium and one or two from the Netherlands. Perhaps the owner of that Manta A you see is on there. What color is the car?
