Rewinring an old-scchool

I'm looking to rewire the RX-2 but can't find the circuits I want. Painless makes great harnesses and silkscreened wires with the name of the component on the wire, but I can't find anyone that has four wires for wipers or includes the washer nozzle stuff, handbrake switch, .... all the stuff like that. Has anyone here rewired a car, and what did you go with?

Hmm, good luck, I barely have my RX3 wagon's wires figured out. It has taken me for ever to figure them out.

i was gonna rewire my 72 808 back when i had it, but luckly sold it.
I would have went with the painless kit. yuo should research these kits:

High Beam Headlight relay - for GM trucks #30802, 30821, 30822 you will probably need the reuse the headlight connectors though.

Auxiliary Light relay kit - #30803

or mabye Halogen headlight harness #30815 or 30816 for higher power halogen bulbs.

which hareness were you looking to use? what do you mean by handbrake switch.

Depending on how many additional circuits needed, might just need to wire them in yourself. I haven't rewired a car, but I have cut out all unnecessary wiring on the race car. Took 3 weekends and I ended up with 2.5 overflowing milk crates of unused wire

Well, the reason I ask is that I'm not looking to make a racer, just a healthy 13B (fuel computer to go under the passenger wiper valence at a later date) with good seats, otherwise-original interior, and a full set of gauges without hacking everything apart. There's a buzzer that comes on when you touch the brakes if your lights are out, there's also the seatbelt circuit that runs along the floorpan, the "hey *******, the handbrake is up" switch and dash light, ...... all sorts of stuff I'd like to save. I'll eliminate the AC but keep nearly everything else other than emissions-related stuff, of course.

Can you easily integrate extra wires into the painless harnesses? I know I'm not going to have a pair of silkscreen-labeled wires for the wiper, but that's not a big deal - I just want to get all my wires in there without hacking it apart.

Also, why would you want to put your headlights on a separate relay and such? They're originally just switched, right?

which harness are you looking to get there buddy? I would go the auxiliary light relay setup, and jsut use them as your inner lights so they would be on when you had your lows or highs on. I wonder if it only has 2 wires for the wipers because they want to you use some sort of switch with them, how many wires run to your wiper switch now?isnt the switch it self jsut distributing power to make it go slow to fast? jsut my thoughts. lates matt22
