So, over the minimal weekend time this past month I was able to take her down off her jack-stands, roll her out of the back yard and into the garage (cleaning the garage space was a whole weekend in itself LOL!) where she now sits perched on a high horse and she's smiling. She's getting the love that's been so long in the waiting.

This baby has been sitting since about 1985 or 1986. Bolts and screws are really rusted in good. I've applied a boatload of penetrant to any accessible side to nuts, bolt, or screws, and still have much difficulty removing some of them. Broke one of the relay screws on the left side. Battery hold down tray bolts ?? Fuugghetaboudit! That's not going well. More on that after next weekend.

Next time I bust into it I've gotta get the frozen grille and cowl screws loose with an impact wrench or something. Still working in the engine compartment. Lots of various things to strip and nothing is as easy as it would have been 20 years ago. But I'm having a GREAT time giving my attention to this car. Very satisfying so far.

I'll try to get video or pics up soon as time permits.

Anyone know how to convert a 74-78 bumper system to a 71-73? I don't have the bumpers yet and am trying to determine what is involved. There's huge bolts protruding from the frame where the shock absorber and support systems attached. Do those stay? Or do I have to sheer them off?

Anyone?
Beuhler?
