wow awesome work

One day (hopefully soon) my repu will see boost. For the time being I will just have to drool over your thread.

Thanks for the complements!
Put the REPU on the dyno to see where it was at, due to the cold I only took it up to 6,000 rpms because it was boost creeping over 22psi on a 12lb spring. I also had the stock 7's&9's spark plugs in and did not want to risk it. I was running pretty low timing (around 5 deg @5,500 rpm) to make sure it was on the safe side. I am going to put the 10 range plugs along with another aux nozzle pre turbo and hopefully get to take it to the 8,000 rpm red line on a warmer day. It made 350rwhp@5,500 rpms, not bad for 10.2 afr's and retarded timing. REPU low rpm dyno test - YouTube |
Went back to the dyno on a warmer day with a 9psi spring in the waste gate and ran out of fuel @ 7,000 rpm's due to the pumps with a max boost of 18-19. I was able to get 427 whp and the torque was still rising. I am going to wait till spring time weather, but I think I am going to do a water to air intercooler and just crank the boost up till it doesn't creep.

Nice truck. I work for Mercedes and noticed your fuel pump and filter look like one from an older S, SL class?
Thanks. Yep, from a 500. They should have flowed enough, but rain got in a test relay while the truck was getting wired and made the pumps run till the battery was totally dead, which I think hurt them. Probably just going to pick up a 044. |
wow, that must be a handful to drive! congrats and enjoy the REPU

Because of the boost creep issue I am going to add a budget water to air kit and relocate the alternator. I am going to go with a budget kit from FrozenBoost and upgrade to there larger heat exchanger that I will install in the bed of the truck right behind the rear axle to help out the weight distribution. My theory is that it is creeping up to 22psi so I think if I run 24-25psi it should be over the boost creep zone, if it does not stop creeping by 25psi I will just redo/replace the wastegate setup. Here is the kit I will be getting.

Started mocking up the heat exchanger for the water to air and welded some fan mounting points to it.

Started to work on the water to air intercooler mounting and piping. Had to relocate the FPR and while I was at it, added a sending unit so I can data log the fuel pressure.

Awesome work love what you're doing keep the progress and pics coming .

Awesome work. With all that auto cross you probably want to upgrade the brakes soon, if you haven't done so already. Cool truck and glad you are running it hard.....I bet people ask you all the time what kind of truck that is?????

Had the spacers made for the FD differential, cant wait to see what this truck can do not that it should hookup better. Attachment 649253 Attachment 649254 Also put the finishing touches on the side mount alternator bracket. Attachment 649255 |

Finished up all the loose ends in the engine bay and installed a serial gauge for the aem ems. The gauge is a little tricky to program to get its full potential but it looks like it is going to add the safety warnings that the V1 EMS is lacking.

Took it for a test drive today, every thing did great except that I am running out of fuel at 60 psi base pressure. I should be able to lower it to 50 and regain some flow and still have a little injector duty left.

Pro Solo event this weekend.

just gets better and better awesome job

REPU has been doing great, its been my daily driver for a while with no problems. I have been running 20psi and am wanting to up it to 22-24 once I get my ait's down a bit.

I would like to thank my friend Ian for that Last photo, my old cannon couldn't touch that.

Such a bad ass build Kevin!
|
Thanks Luis, can't wait for the new intercooler from you to be able to raise the boost and max out the injectors!
