Repu Jammed Up

OK, HELP needed?????

My REPU got jammed into 3rd gear and if I remember things correctly, this same tranny was in my RX3 Conv. and it did the same thing to me.... Well, that being 10+ years ago, I can't remember how to get it unstuck,....... I might have to pull the tranny back out. It's an early first gen 5-speed......79-80 if my memory is right....It drives in 3rd just fine, but it a bitch to back up.... BTW I'm putting an RX3-SP stripe kit on the truck, except it will say RE-PU or something....looking for Idea's

Is there some rule about slamming 3rd gear I should have learned by now???

Thanks in advance......

I've never jammed a REPU trans but I jammed my 626 gears in 1st gen tranny twice.

Both times downshifting into 3rd gear hard.

You can try to rock the car back and forth while a buddy tries to pull the shifter into neutral. But that has never *worked* for me.

We had to pull the tranny each friggin time and dissassemble.

Can't wait to see the stripe kit for REPU. RE-PU would be sharp.

my bugs used to do that, alot when downshifting hard also. had to drive a bug home in 2nd one time, not fun at all.

I have a 1985 12a tranny for $20. I am in vancouver wa. was in great shape when it was pulled.
