Ques about rx3?

I have a chance to buy a rx3 not sure of the year the guy says 72 or 73 but are those years rx2 I know nothing about older mazdas. The car has a piston engine they must have pulled the rotary body is in great shape needs a paint job and the interior is in very good shape. How much do you guys think this car is worth.

Are you sure the car isn't an 808?

the piston engine "eqivilent" to the RX-3 (there are quite a few other differences, but in a nutshell, you get the point)

Production years for both the 808 and RX-3 in the US was 73-78..

there are some early 72 ish RX-3s out there that snuck in early from Japan.

if it has a piston engine, it's an 808. mine's a '75 808 and that's what what was in it. can't believe someone would replace a rotary with that slow *** 4 banger. the nose was changed on '76 and later 808's from 4 headlights to 2. i gave $500 for mine back in '93. then took it home, parked it, and started pulling the engine out.
