Well put the Rays TE37's on to see how they look. I need to get coil overs so I can drop it down. I will get some after I get running.

18 8.5 +35 235 35/18
18 9.5 +40 265 35/18

Car is very dirty. I will wash it tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a big day going to start installing the

Haltech EUC harness
supra fuel pump
oil cooler and cooler lines
figure out how to mount the inter cooler

tomorrow a local hose shop is going to come over and give estimate on extending the air conditioning lines. my plan is to move the condenser up front and mount the IC resesed in the where the condenser was before.

made only a little progress yesterday. would have gotten more done, but one of friends stopped by to buy the seats and carpet out of the parts Cosmo. I get more done today.

I started laying out the harness

lol looks like a rats nest now. Just getting the wires run to the area they need to go. then they will get cleaned up into a wire loom.

a little better

just setting on the carpet. I think im going to mount it in the or under the glove box. I dont think I will put it under the carpet

Drained the A/C system I really hated to do that cuase it still had R12 in it and was super cold.

condenser is out

intercooler test fit

almost fits right in there

need to do a little cut job so it can slide a about 25mm deeper in.

well that was unexpected the radiator hits the intercooler pipes. going to need to rethink this.

Some of you might know that my blue/green/purple lol what ever color Cosmo got flooded one day about 8 months ago and I could never get it started.

When I would try and start I would smell fuel and put a little ATF in build up compression and free any seal that might be stuck from carbon build up. I had kind of given up on that engine and was saving up for a rebuild. But the other night around 3am I just like sat up in my bed and said why dont swap the igniters, AFM, map, and ECU from the parts car and see if it would start.

So the next day I went to down the shop and swapped them out and put just a little ATF down the LIM to help wash away the gas and build up compression. turned the key and it started right up.

just a few seconds after starting running a little rough on ATF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWIcjXk7y8g

after about 10 minutes of running the smoke was clearing, and after about 20 minutes it was running and idling fine with no smoke.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcbYrStRcN4

So......... bring on the snowball effect to my current project car with 13B RE engine just a few days from being able to start the car with new computer.... lol while the 20B engine was cooling off I rolled the other Cosmo in the bay and pulled out the 13B....

pulled the 20B car in

let me see I know I picked up a RE Amemiya 20B manifold a few years ago... lets see how it fits

the turbo is just sitting on there and is leaning forward once the bolts are installed it will sit flat

LOL I destroyed the shop that day. I am still amazed on how much trans fluid the AT has in it and how much I can spill on the floor!!

Tonight after work going back down to the shop and clean up of the vacuum lines from under the intakes. install the block off plates. And I need to get pilot bearing and seal then I can drop it into the project car.

made good progress today.

lol the 20b is alot bigger in there than the 13B

lets check to see if the manifold fits

clears every thing nicely. no need to cut and weld

turbo fits good. I think I might need a larger one. now the T04R looks so small on a 20B

down pipe test fit. lots of room and fits good.

wastegate pipe fits nicely around the steering.

was going to start welding up the down pipe and wastegate today but someone who used the mig welder before me welded the wire into tip. I bought 10 new tips for the shop but they cant find them...

oh well not much done today

here is wastegate and starting of the downpipe with vbands.

Tial MVR

The RE Amemiya manifold has a Trust waste gate 4 bolt flange on it just like this one that cut off the 13B manifold.

I was going to cut off the flang and weld it on to the pipe. but I think I will just weld the Tial Vband flang right onto the old trust flang. kinda like this.

I have a RE Amemiya front pipe that is 80mm for the stock turbos. I was going cut off stock flang but I think I will end up welding a vband on it too

I want to make it really fast and easy to swap out front pipes when I have to JCI inspection. so I can put the stock front back on.

well had and hour to do some work on the car. I want to start removing part of the old harness that wont be needed like the wires for the coils. I really want to clean up under the hood. So I removed the coils and ignitors and the bracket they where mounted on. While I have the battry out and cleaning up that area I am almost tempted to move the battery to the trunk, to make room for intercooler pipes.

lol dont look at the rats nest in the top of this image.
looks like 20 years worth of dirt and dust under where the coils where mounted.

gotta find a new way to mount the fuse boxes.

mounted the transmission slave today and filled and bleed the line and it works great. one more thing of that list... I can almost stand up strait now.

going to try and knock out as much as i can this week and weekend. Still waiting on parts the coils shipped and heat shield shipped. i hope to get them by the weekend. I think if I can get the coils by the friday I will be able to at least start the car by sunday.

took the main power and ground harness home with me so I can clean it and take most of it apart to keep the just wires I need

this car had been a wreck before I got it. and it drove good but was a little tweeked. My Japanese friends are going to take the body and convert it an electric car. They love the lines of the Cosmo. I had orgingal bought that car just pull the engine out of it and put the 20B into a FC, But after driving it a few times I could not just pull the engine and send the body the scrap yard. So it will get a new lease on life. it has a ton of room under the hood and truck to install batteries. They plan to use a FC 5 speed and get a electric motor and use a rotary adaptor plate. The paint looks good from distance but the roof the car has tuned almost all white. The okinawa sun is killer on clear coats.

well trying to figure out where I am going to mount these coils. I like the stock coils they are in a very clean package. I ordered GM LS/2 Truck coils with the ignitor built in.

found a piece of alum scrap that is the exact length of the rotor housing .... is it fate?

hmmm

why does he still have that chain on?

lol its out again...

I used window cleaner on the tunnel and paint started coming off ouch

test fitting

with the bumper and side skirts it looks much more aggressive than my old blue one. Gave it a quick wash

next on the hit list

install the RE Amemiya front pipe and dual dolphin.
built a front pipe from the turbo to the RE front pipe

design a mount for the coils ( lol i been thinking about buying some FD ignitors and running the stock 20b coils I like how compact they are.)
build oil cooler lines
build bracket to mount FC oil cooler
install supra pump
install FD intercooler

need to find a place on the UIM to tap it for brake master vacuum.
re-tap the air temp sensor in the elbow for the haltech ATS

I was going to use the FD single exh but I think for right now I will use the RE duals.

I used a block off plate where the air pump goes to the LIM do I need to block off the air line on the back of the LIM?

coils looks nice. I wish mine where flat on one side to mount them like that.

the an fittings

front iron oil feed to turbo 14mmx1.5 -4
front cover oil 16mm -10
oil filter 18mm -10

mazdatrix has a cool fitting for fc. it is shorter so it does not take up much room.

heat shield armor. They said it can withstand 1800 F. continuous. I got the 1/2 thick one to do the manifold and down pipe. LOL got tired of my shoes melting in the cosmo. The firewall would get heat soaked and even with air con on your feet are still roasting. So this should help knock down the heat build up.

where I live in Japan, Okinawa was spared from the earth quake. We did get a small tsunami but it arrived right a low tide and did not cause any damage.

well I got good news and bad news.....

the good news is that the FD intercooler is here.

The bad news... it is too wide to fit in there it is 79cm from end tank to end tank. im going to see if I can get a local radator shop to cut about 20 ~ 25 cm off and reweld it. I have never welded alum or I would try it myself.
