wow, talk about a glowing review!! it looks like the RX-8 will be a huge hit, if Mazda's marketing department can kick it into high gear.

It needs to be Turbo Charged!!!!Well, At least that's how i feel about it. I guess it all depends on how Nissan will act on their new Z model, then see how well Mazda counter it. I bet Mazda has been experimenting with the forced induction secretly anyways......

Autoweek has one. Its the new (11/25/02) issue. I have it here, but I am too paranoid to post it!

It isn't up yet at www.autoweek.com, but should be soon...

I heard that people are getting about 290 HP on the rx8 with the addition of headers. Not bad for an NA that will pass smog!

who is doing this? the RX-8 isn't even out yet, so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I heard it from Rob at Pineapple Racing. To my knowledge he isn't doing it yet, it's just what he heard through the grapevine I guess. I don't really know anything about it except he said "they" are getting about 290 out of it with just headers. Maybe he was refering to the Mazda racing team? As far as passing smog goes, well, I may have stretched on that one depending on where you live. In oregon FC's with headers will in practice pass smog if they are in tune, but I don't know much about the rules for OBD2.

Damn if its true put me in line for mods as soon as my Renesis is broken in. Does anyone know of any tuners that plan on coming up with modifications for the RX-8 as soon as it comes out?

they will soon, since the Star Mazda racing series is set to use the RENESIS as the new motor for the 2003 season

Dammit, I want to see this car in person!

here's a good shot of the RX-8's profile:

slightly bulky on the c-pillar, but pretty slick overall

Mazda needs to start making commercials for the Rx-8 to start the craze.
