Need Help, swap 13b t2 on RX3?

This is my RX3 74. And I started to put the engine but the turbo does not fit into the chassis, someone has an idea that I can do.

I always wondered how this would fit, looks like you need a aftermarket manifold, or can you rotate the intake side of the turbo?

Most guys move the turbo up and forward with an aftermarket manifold. Something like this:

Rotate the compressor housing a little to move the wastegate actuator, then fab up a new rod.

Sorry, this is my fault from the New User forum. I didn't think you'd be using a stock turbo.

Thanks, I will first try to turn the compressor housing, if you are not, I will get a aftermarket manifold.

I totally notched and boxed a section of the frame.

now im going hx40. I bought a cheap ebay mani like pictured above and the turbo wont clear the fender well. the flange needs to be more of a top mount.

Were you planning on making the turbo back exhaust system yourself? If so, while you at it you could make a pipe that bolts between the turbo and the stock manifold to relocate the turbo up a bit. You would just need two flanges & a J-bend to make such an adapter.

i kno its a very old post but o well.. maybe it can help someone else

all of my buddies. just use one turbo 2 motor mount and one rx3 mount and it gives enough clearence to run until you get the money for a BNR which has a smaller vacuum actuator and will clear the frame.

oz sourced manifolds bring it forward and up to clear chassis and steering box...
since you dont have to go quite as far forward.. a simple trick is to use the stock s5 turbo manifold.. flip it upside down and bolt it to the engine

this moves the turbo up a little and adjacent the front rotor

on the turbo,, you have to oval two of the holes to make it fit ..
compressor cover will now just kiss the inlet manifold.. you can use a spacer plate and two gaskets ( 16mm ish ) between manifold and turbo .. or you can grind the inlet manifold

PS you can use one tall and one short mount.. FC modles have a slightly taller mount ,, you can put a shim plate either side

also /.. some FC3s models have a taller mount on spark side than than others

also you can flip around your timing cover engine bracket and thus offset engine with bias slightly to either side of bay
