got this a few months ago, thinking of doing a fuel injected halfbridge turbo, started porting motor already will post up pics as soon as i can,and also of the projects progress.

diabolical1 11-05-07 02:11 AM

can't really see much. need bigger pics, but it sounds like you're going to have a nice ride when it's all said and done. i think Rx-2s are my favorite old school rotaries. i will enjoy watching you build yours. :)

by the way, don't be shy with pics. i'm always interested.

here are some more pictures of the epsilon wheel after i cleaned it up a bit,and another of my porting still need to take housings to get resurfaced.

ultimatejay 11-06-07 07:56 PM

Looks good. I heard alot of negative things about 1/2 bridges. Either full bridge or large streetport is better. Keep us updated on your progress.

turbo_dave 11-06-07 10:27 PM

im going to see how that works out with the halfbridge turbo 2 block, but thats only temporary to get the car going.I really want a 13b cosmo engine but thats at a later time.I already had a cosmo engine but was sold with my previous rx2 project, sold it cause it needed to much work, maybe you guys seen it in this forum (diamond in the rough)yupp.

nothing special done as of yet besides the wheels getting repolished.i have been busy working on everybodys car but mine.also because im waiting on my friend to have some time at his shop so he can redo all my electrical on the car.starting tommorow im going to mock up the engine and shorten the turbo 2 trans. shifter about 4 inches so shifter sits close to the stock position, and make my own engine and trans mount,i will take pictures of all the work being done, for now here are some pics of the car as it is,nothing really different.

turbo_dave 04-29-08 10:58 PM

getting the oil pan welded up at my friends shop.im using the cosmo 13BRE oil pan cause it already has the sump in the rear, and using the GSL-SE ring where the holes mount up to, welded to the cosmo pan so it bolts up to the GSL-SE front cover properly.also using the cosmo pick up tube since its made already for the pan.i will put up pics as soon as i get it done.

turbo_dave 05-03-08 12:49 AM

here are some pics of the custom RE oil pan,and some pics of the engine mocked up and in the car.

latest is im working on the electrical on the entire car, since when i bought it it had no electrical, also starting the engine build in the next couple weeks,as for the tires these cars cant handle turns for shit,so the skinny's in the front is for the drag car look.im going to see a lot of track time in this car once its done.for now i got the 4 door rx2 to get me around in since its all O.G.will post up pics as soon as i get more progress going.

turbo_dave 02-19-09 12:44 AM

just picked up some shiny parts for both of my rx2's,1 for the sedan, the other pair for the coupe.they are turbonetics turbo's t4 60 series, with t66 blades.they were custom made for the guy i bought them from, exhaust housings were ceramic coated, but are no use for me since they are .81,i need a .96 or bigger.here are some pics.the wastegates are also turbonetics new gen 55mm.

Good luck...

turbo_dave 12-30-09 09:06 PM

its been a while and finally got back into the car again.i just been to busy the past couple months and didnt have time for the car.it is currently at my friends shop and they are doing the whole electrical on the car,it didnt have any when i bought it.they also started on the mounting of the intercooler and radiator.next is the header for the turbo and all the intercooler piping.since last time i posted i decided to go with a FD REW 13b instead of the TII.here are some crappy iphone pics, will post as the project goes.thats just a mock up engine, when the new motor goes in everything will be polished.

Looking good Dave, keep it going. I see you are running the Australian intercooler routing setup.

turbo_dave 12-30-09 11:51 PM

yupp i like the way the pipes look, the center of the apron will be welded back on so it dont look so open in the center.

nanaimorotard 01-03-10 02:06 PM

dave love your build! i own a 73 rx2 and i am having troubles deciding how to build it up. i like to have some power to have fun with but im also scared of the weak rear end in these cars and have heard the front suspension is not ideal for track use or drag. i also have a gsl-se that i thought would be good to use all the running gear out of? in the end i know it is all about how you yourself wants to build your own car but its always nice to have some opinions.

kevin arnold 01-03-10 06:05 PM

dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nice glad 2 c its going smooth
