I remember that thread from a few months back. I love those counterweights! I just wanna eat 'em up!

Hey, who wants to attempt a multi-rotor? Two or three shouldn't be a problem. Just do 180 degree phasing for a two rotor, or 120º for a three rotor.

Who needs to beef up a weedwhacker? Geez, for the HP those put out, why not do a lawnmower (just gear it down a little instead of the direct-drive of a typical boinger).

and it'll all return someday (soon)...
A German firm called Wankelsupertec has developed a multi-fuel engine, using diesel right now (as it's easiest to get at the pump) that should be production ready in a bout 2 years. They have already done many hours on the engine dyno. For every 500cc chamber they make about 60kw, and everything from single to eight rotor is being looked at. Fuel consumption is in the same region as modern CDI diesel engine of simular output.

I bet it'll be easier to purchase than Moller (freedom motors) Rotapower engines.

What the hell are those motors made with to withstand the pressure generated in a diesel? Thats some crazy sh*t.

Well, they seemed very much like a PP engine...
They need pre-colmpression, and extra ignition, but they are supposed to be reliable, silent, and not use all that much fuel/diesel/...

I've seen one that was turned into a watercooled one, in a 787B replica!
