Exclamation michigan question

ok, my buddy had a 2'nd gen non turbo that he payed a company named godspeed to build and install a 13b turbo in with a t2 trans i think thats what it is but any way they told him they streetported it and they didn't he got the 3mm apec seals though, he had a t3/t4 hybrid in it well he dumped about $13,000 into it and finally decided to get a srt4 well i bought a clean cut 1st gen n/a 1985 for $500 and i was thinking bout getting his engin and trans off him rebuilding it and dropping it in. my question is is there a place where i can tak the engine to get rebuilt in michigan or ohio that i wont get ripped off, cause i dont want to spend all the money to send in to a website and have it rebuilt. or is rebuilding a 13bt somthing i could do right myself . i could really use some help on this

We have no idea how much mechanic skills you have. I am rebuilding my 12a myself. A 13b is just very slightly different from that. In northern Indiana there is Banzai Racing which will rebuild the engine. I'm not sure about Michigan or Ohio shops, though.

After spending that kind of foolish money, why does the engine need rebuilt? I need to find customers with deep pockets like that.

I had never rebuilt any engine until I did the one in my widebody. Not that hard with the right tools and guidance. Rotary Aviation and Atkins both sell rebuild videos. With decent mechanical skill, tools and info, it can be done.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs. Download the year that you need for the TII and peruse the engine rebuild section. That should give you and idea if you want to task it. If you decide to go ahead, buy one of the videos.

Welcome to the forum.
