Mazda REPU Ques

I'm in love with Mazda REPU's, following my passion for Rx-7's (And rotary engines). Plan on finding and restoring one when the time is right (And when i can find one...) ...From what i can gather, the 1977 is the only available REPU with a 5-Speed Manual transmission...Are there any other transmissions that are easily swapped into these awesome pickups (Incase i decided to buy an earlier one, depending on what's available..)? Anyone?
Thank you.

You can use any pre-81 5 speed tranny without mocking with the floor.

77 also have a few slight differences from the 74-76 style.

Cab extended by 3 or 4 inches
Battery box and door redesigned
3.83 (approx) instead of the 4.62 rear
5 transmission available.

only about 3000 77s where made before mazda discontinued due to poor sales production.
