Maybe know enough to ask some questions?

Okay, I've been lurking and reading and studying so hopefully won't seem to stupid. New guy with S413b in a bugeye. I know this is the gen II section but hey, that's where the engine started life.

They PO put on the RB Holley carb / intake setup. As you might expect, tuanbility of a sledgehammer and no lower grunt. I am planning on going back to a fuel only EFI with the distributor doing the igniton work (from an earlier engine I assume).

So, I'm thinking stock lower S4 manifold with functioning port actuators, one of the many available upper manifold-to-throttle body uppers, a TWM 2900 / 2010 twin throttle body (got to figure out which side I need the throttle on) with TPS, four 550CC injectors (two in TWM and two in stock housing ports) and a fule only ECU running the show.

Engine is ~48k stock non-ported unit in good condition. Still using mechanical oil metering. Otherwise totally void of all EFI plumbing and electrical. RB header to 2" exhaust.

Q's are:

1. Haltech or Mircotech? (F10X or MT/ LT-4) would seem to be the box choice? Other options? Any reason to choose one versus the other? I understand that one of them (?) may allow me to go closed loop if I also do a WB O2? I don't need or plan on injector sequencing.

2. How should / do I acutate the 6 ports? I assume I could use the extra trigger with RPM that either of these ECUs has to acutate the on / off but what source ofr the air pressure. Remember, no stock pumps, etc. and a fairly opewn low backpressure exhaust.

Sorry for the long post. Just looking ot get it right BEFORE the big $s go out the door.

You can do the Electric 6-port mod. Rotaryressurection has a great writeup for this.

Maybe because a distribuotr is what I already have, I don't have a crank trigger or ignition coils, and setting up and tuning a fuel only unit yourseldf is easier than a fuel / ignition unit?

Unless of course you want to give me all of this free as well as the added $s for the more expensive fuel plus ign. ecu?

Talk about putting that foot in your mouth!
