Is Jay Leno poking around here?
I read an article where he mentions he is restoring an old Cosmo. I wondered if he is online researching/looking for parts. He will most likely find this site when he searches Rotaries.

Every time I hear about Jay and his taste is cars he gets more respect from me, a die hard Letterman fan.
So, is he poking around RX7club?

Jay Leno was there with wife Mavis. “You’ll like my new project,” he said with a big smile. “I’m restoring a ’70 Mazda Cosmo 110S sports car. I love that era of Japanese culture,” he said, doing a little jig in his seat for emphasis.
So, is he poking around RX7club?

Jay, was actually going to attend SevenStock this year, but ironically he was scheduled to be in Florida. We were making arrangements to display his cosmo (motored restored by Mazdatrix), but he wanted to attend with the car. We are hoping next year the car and him will be there. The car is pretty much done and in great shape.
Jay is a GRADE-A, 100% car guy... his shop is about a mile from my house, and I see him driving "ALL" of his cars at least twice a month!!! He goes out, by himself, and just cruises... much respect to him for driving all of his million dollar toys!!

he has mechanics that work on his stuff, must be nice. wonder if he gets greasy himself? not that many of his cars are greasy anyways. wonder if he owns any bugs? is this his only rotary powered car? I think he needs to hire me to do a 4 rotor turbocharged, mid engined, splitwindow bug. A $25,000 paddle shift mid engine sandrail tranny, mated to a $80,000 engine, in a 2000lb bug. That would be a good start anyways. Hey Mr Leno, do you need another mechanic?

the paddle shift will run you a few thousand more( note look how small the motor side of the tranny is compared to where the guts are, its a big trans, thats for sure)

i used to work for a place called center staging in burbank...rehearsal studio and rental gear.
anyway, lots of the bands that did appearances on jay's show got gear from us and i did a lot of the pickups there.. i've seen a bunch of jay's cars--all extremely nice. and he's a nice guy too!

I hope jay really gets addicted to the rotary engine..... If he only dedicates some of his busy schedule to reading about the little motor. He will see what he has been missing all his life...

Man from what I know about jay’s car collection and works on his own collection. And I knew he has almost every type of engine ever made. And this does answer my one question because I knew he had steam engines but I didn't know if he had rotary...but it seems he does.
