Installing a Stock S4 In Rx3 including exh mani

Specs are:
Stock S4 motor, turbo, manifold and ECU. Ported wastegate. Relocated stock wastegate (is this a forbidden act?)actuator to clear frame. Removed 90% of the rast nest. Remove twin scroll actuator and flap drilled and tapped hole for a 3/8" standard pipe plug. Used a 12a front cover drilled tapped and installed 1/2" oil return barb fitting. GLS-SE oil pan with rx3 oil pick up tube. S5 trans with the 4" reduction in the shifter and a custom trans mount (still in production) i have about 1/4" to 3/8" on each side of the trans between the stock trans mounts on the car.

i read alot about the stock turbo and mani not going to fit.
Is the wastegate the only reason for a custom exhaust manifold when using the stock set up?

we used an S4 TII stock motor with a NA trans.

Modified the front engine mount to move the engine back 3 or so inches.

notched the frame for the wastegate. had the drive shaft shortened.

thats about it... later blew it up on the dyno after it boost crept to 17psi, on a 2.5 DP to presilencer from a junkyard TII and it still crept. now its half bridged and awaiting my lazy *** to work on it.

notching the frame wasn't a good idea IMO. ur dealing with a unibody car so unless u added strength some other way, i'd advise against this.

to the OP, a custom manifold is going to be best due to the limited space between the engine and strut tower. anything claiming to work will probably still need some modding to fit ur application.

why do you have to modify the motor mount? If you install a 13-B motor without notching the bar, it will automatically push the motor back. In addition, thats the most you can do without hacking the firewall.

I used this engine mount without any changes to the hole location.
I currently have the trans mounted without the clutch assembly and no clearance issues.
Questions
1. Will I have a clearance issue installing the trans with the clutch assembly installed?
2. Can I turn on the car without the clutch? far from that but just wondering.

Working on the S4 wiring harness (Spaghetti for days). tracing one wire at a time from a donor car. I really don't understand the FSM. Hands on kinda guy.

I've had my garage queen sitting for 7 years too long.

Wacky
The only thing I'm tierd of, is a sitting rx3. lol

I understand the RHD issues.

I have read alot helpful of threads here.
Thanks guys

mount the tranny first, then the motor. by pushing the motor back, you wont have enough clearance to pull out the tranny unless the orig tranny mount on the tunnel is removed completely and/or trans tunnel have been hacked with a sledge hammer or vice versa.

sure, you can get it running wthout a clutch/transmission but you need an old school removal bellhousing or install a dummy RX-7 tranny without any internals ....think about it, where will the starter sit without it .

lol to tired of RX-3. my problem is too many cars, not enough time.

PM rotarydave2006. he can help you with modifying the stock TII harness.
