How far should my tachometer go

I'm looking to replace the tachometer in my rotary MG. I'm looking at the black face one at the bottom of this page.

It comes in several ranges. 18,000 RPM would be over kill, and make the thing annoying to read. What would be a good range? I'm using an '88 street ported NA 13B with the stock Mazda electrics from an FC.

I was thinking 10k. When does the rev limiter hit? I'm guessing 8k? If that's the case 10k sounds about right.

While I'm on the topic. It was suggested I get a pyrometer. I've heard rotaries can run up to 2,000 degrees. I haven't seen a gauge one that goes higher than that. Is 2k enough?

The S5 has a rev limiter I believe but the 88' and back don't. I've never hit one on my FC and it has seen 8 grand.

I don't know if the S5's have a rev limiter. I know they will run out of breathing room nearing 8800rpm.

I did get to put a 48DCOE on an S5 and go somewhere around 10k.
