how to balance a 1 rotor?

ok i have a bunch of old 12a parts layingaroud.. and i wanted to make a single rotor just for a go kart or w/e i can do lathe work and machine down the e shaft and all other fabrication needed. but since your cutting off one full rotor how would you balance it? i wondered cause normally you have the front counterwieght and the rear counterwieght in the flywheel, would i have to throw those on the lathe and take off material too, or make all new wieghts?

it seems to me you might need bigger counterwieghs, cause now its 1 rotor and you dont have another to counteract the forces so maybe youd need counterwieghts that are bigger or offset in another direction from the e shaft... i didnt want to spend big bucks on getting it professionally balanced i wonder if theres a mathematical way of figuring it out.. that way it would be sortof close?

just wondered?

Stock counterweights are all that's required. Surprised? All they need is some minor tweaking to shave or add small amounts of weight because single rotor engines are less tolerant to slight imbalances than 2 rotors..

As for the shaft, you may need a custom one.
