Help Me!!!!!(rx-8)
Hi everybody....
It's been a while I've read about U.....I have a question for you...
Thats it is!!!
I've heard about an RX-8 compression loss problem, they will be retarding the release of it because of some manufacture troubles...
have anyone heard about it??

yeah it seems like true cos at the auto show i asked about the release and at mazda they told it they had production problems and they dont even know if its gonna be for the this year...
its something like the apex that doesnt "seat" well and causing that compression problem...

This is what I found...

Renesis genesis
But let’s face it, the RX-8 is all about rotary power. And the Renesis is an intriguing update of the Wankel design.
Early problems with the rotary seals have been resolved. But in developing the RX-8, Mazda faced a number of other challenges. For one thing, it had to drive down cost, one of the reasons it chose not to turbocharge the new engine.
Emissions and fuel economy were even more challenging. A major issue was the fundamental design of the valveless rotary, since for a brief interval, the rotor would leave open both the intake and exhaust ports. With the new, 2-rotor Renesis, the three exhaust ports have been moved to the side rotor housings, so they can be completely closed when the intake port is opened. That eliminates unintentional exhausting of unburnt hydrocarbons.
And earlier rotary designs tended to produce inefficient burns because they operated at lower temperatures. The Renesis has been designed to capture unburnt hydrocarbons and carry them over to the next cycle. The carmaker claims the new engine will be able to meet both the tough new Euro-4 and U.S. LEV-II emissions standards.

SCC said the ports weren't opening and that was killing off some of the car's power, but when they discovered this Mazda yanked the car out from under them so they couldn't play with it anymore.

Yeah, like Mazda would wait until the last month (and especially April's 1st ) to announce/discover that the RX8 has port problems......
Come on, cannt you think of anything more creative ?

I dont believe SCC just printed that article, plus mazda wasnt the one who even said the ports were messed up. I think C&D did mention this too.
Do you mean you are getting crankcase pressure? How did you confirm this?
