GSL-SE front cover + FD engine question

I am helping a friend swap a 93 FD engine into his GSL-SE. We are going to be swaping the front cover and using a PowerFC to control the setup. My question is this... The FD engine uses front cover mounted E-shaft magnetic pickups where as the GSL-SE used a dizzy. What should we do for ignition? Could we use a 2nd gen CAS and wire it up the connectors that would have gone to the FD's front cover mounted E-shaft magnetic pickups? Any help would be great. Want to get this thing ready to go ASAP.

do you HAVE to use a power FC?

If the power FC isnt a requirnment, why not a haltech, and use a CAS from a second gen to control the ignition that way it would work find with the gsl-se front cover.

Of you have to use the power FC, then I dont really see a way to use the GSL-SE front cover, knowing how the FD's ignition system is set up

CAS will drop right into an SE front cover. You might find a better setup, but I know that the CAS setup will work for you.

I don't think the Power FC was ever designed to use a CAS.
Are you using the 3rd Gen wiring harness?

you can use a power fc in the 2nd gen which has a cas ,and it is the same computer used in normal fd's, but it has a special wiring harnes and boost sensor. There also might be some difrence in the base program. But I have no clue how to make the 2ng gen cas work the the power fc. good luck.
