GRM $2008 Challenge Build Thread
Looks like you have a strong contender there. I personally like the top 'Starsky and Hutch' yellow/gray scheme.
I did the '06 Challenge; if anyone out there wonders if they should go for it, DO IT!!! It's a one of a kind experience. Just watch out for the Hong Norr clan.

Hey guys, thought I would update this old thread for everyone who may remember it and may still be interested. It's been a strange seven months...
The GRM Challenge was two weeks ago, and we didn't make it. Between myself getting a new job, living/working(+most weekends) 2hrs away from the shop, my teammates not having the drive to work on it without me around, and them also getting side-tracked with rock-crawler projects...this thing just wound up collecting dust in the back of the shop.
Everyone pretty much thought that this year's event would be the last one on the east coast, meaning: If we were to do it at all, it would have to be this year. But, GRM <3's the east coast so much that they decided to keep the event, and add a west coast event. So, there will be an '09 event on Oct. 8th 2009 in the same place...so, now we're gearing up for next year. We have an entire year, woo!
So... what has happened with the car since the last update? Not much
The cage is on its way to being done...its going to be pretty sick. The guy thats doing the cage is putting the finishing touches on a very quality exo-cage on his project-Cherokee, and its given him the itch to finish this one. I've got a set of FC 15" BBS wheels with some pretty used up Kumho MX's. The brakes and rear end situation needs to be figured out. I think we'll be swapping in a cheap Ford rear end instead of adapting FC rear brakes to the stock axle. Other plans include finding a T5 tranny, and getting rid of the AOD. This winter, I want to have a rolling chassis. I strive to get it back on the ground, smooth out the body and at least get a solid coat of primer on it, and finish up the cockpit (sheetmetal dash, a few gauges, harness, finish cage, and a seat.)
To be continued (srsly)
