Is this a good idea?

When in doubt, turn to the forum, possibly the Lounge.

Anyhow I was milling around in the Atlanta Advertiser and came across an add for
a Porsche 914 roller.
I have a spare 13b n/a motor tha came outta a gtu. So I was thinking about dropping it into that 914 shell.

I know it would be a pretty interesting project, but just wanted to get opinions!

been done (including ghias and bugs) but I have seen any with a well-designed cooling system (radiator).

I believe mazdatrix sells a bellhousing adapter. For VW transmissions which i think have the same bellhousing.

Kennedy Engineered Products sells a bolt on adapter (engine to tranny). The radiator is really not that big of an issue. You will need to cut a hole under the bumper (inlet) and a hole in each wheel well inside the front trunk (outlet).
Wiring a stock ECU is not too hard. It only requires about four or five wires to be hooked up. If you go carbed instead of fuel injection it is even easier.
you may also want to look at the Renegade Hybrids webpage.
I put a TII in a 911 so I know it can be done.
