Good buy?
Hey everyone,
I found this on Craigslist and wondering what you all think of this?
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...394611655.html
I'm in Northern California while this is in Southern California so if there are any SoCal folks that can check this car out for me, that would be great and we can discuss compensation of course. What are you guys thoughts and what are concerns I should have? I'll be reaching out to the seller today so don't try to steal it from me! LOL, anyways.. I'm interested to see what you all think of this. Please feel free to be candid, I know this will probably be a money pit and finding parts will be hard AF but I'm a gluten for punishment already.
Thanks!

I saw that one the other day. Seems a little bit high to me, but what the heck do I know. It is in SoCal though, which seems to automatically add 20% to the price. The only cons I can see are: it's auto, and possible rust. Have whoever looks at it check for the normal rust areas: floorboards, trunk (hatch in this case), etc. I don't really know what commonly rusts on RX4 wagons though. Maybe it's just all surface rust? Hard to tell from the pics. It seems like most of the parts are there though. That side exhaust looks interesting too, never seen one done like that before. Heck I'd go check it out for free, but I think I'm even more north than you are.

Hopefully someone who is somewhat to really knowledgeable about the RX4 will respond but i'm guessing if people didn't know about this on craigslist, they know about it now and will pick it up for themselves. Lol. (I have no faith in humanity)

Yikes! BIG no. Huge money pit and headache imo.
I seriously looked at a Rx4 wagon in Orinda some 10-15 years ago. It 'survived' in much better condition than this and I still walked away. Fun it appears there are some original dealer materials / owners manuals included. It'd also be nice to know how many keys come with the vehicle as my '74 coupe had a separate key for the trunk lock. Not sure if this applies to the wagon.
Maybe contact Rotorsport Paul and see if he has any parts of use.
