Or do you mean they're a factory matched set, and otherwise stock? You see, I've got a theory about that, and the stationary gear stuff too. Isn't it possible to simply get a set of front and rear counterweights (from Mazdatrix or whatever) for whichever rotor I plan to use, and not have to machine them at all? It seems logical.

I will dig the stuff out this weekend and see what they look like.

Now I an not trying to berst any ones bubbles
When you do this task what trans axl would you use because I have not found one that would hold up the power to a rotary [in less I am not looking in/or @ the right cars].
As for A one rotor I dont think it would last and would Be way under power for a FWD car.

I can assure you the car I'd like to put a one rotor in is vastly underpowered. Of course if I can fit a 12A in it, that would be great. Also, the transaxle needs to only handle enough power for non abusive driving. I've got a soon-to-be 20B powered GLC for my small car (power) needs.

Hey Dan, I saw a couple one rotor 13B engines on stands at your shop a few years ago. Does your dad still make them? Would he sell the parts seperately? I believe the only thing I'd need is the eccentric shaft itself. I'd also like to see some pictures of intakes and exhuast manifolds, but your new webpage is not finished yet.

Hmm, how would the oil drain from the rotor?

Well the FWD rotory has be done, and I do have pics, its a '87 Mazda 626 with a PP 13B, it will do 13.5sec in the 1/4 with wheel spin most of the way, and it was a weekend carso it was road legal. I too have been working on a FWD 13b, it's going to be some time before I get it completed, but may use a P5 for the body, will see what happens.

Pics please! My daily driver is a '96 626, maybe I should put a 13B in too
But if I think about the wheelspin this car develops with 103hp, I don't want to think about a 200-250hp FWD 626...

The GC body 626 (83-87) is the FWD car I would most like to put a rotary into. I would love to see pics of that.

I used to own a 1965 NSU Wankel Spider, that was a really neat car. Impossible to find parts for it though. Actually the friend I traded it to has mentioned selling it recently, if anyone is interested I can ask him about it again.

Wankel spiders are great little cars, but unfortunatly rolling prototypes... This results in almost no car being exactly the same, and parts being difficult to obtain (even more so in the USA, I'd reckon!)
But they were rearwheel driven (and rear-engined, single rotor)

i think the mini would be the bomb!!! They were the hooligan cars for a time. Also the starlet/Glanza is offered in FWD and 4wd and are pretty tough cookied. They're street draggers faves out here. Also Subaru made the RXR which was a supercharged FWD. So was the turbo charged 2(or 3?) cyl Suzuki Capaccino vert

The Lawton workshop based in Paraparam have produced a few intesting cars like this - couple of front wheel drive rotors, a few 3 and now 4 rotor late model 323's. Also specialise in rotor vans, DX Corolla's, and anything else you can get a rotor into.

I wish they showed a better picture of the exhaust routing around the driveshaft.

I picked up a front counterweight for an old style 13B yesterday. I already have the rear counterwight. I'll pick up a rotor in a few days. It looks like the only tough part is the E shaft itself, which I'll get from whomever wants to sell me one.

Wow! Glad I found this forum! I've been kicking around the idea of a rotary powered Fiero. I've been told one of my big problems would be having a CV joint too close where the exhaust port is. Could the engine be tilted, with a different pan and pickup, or would there be other issues? If carbureted, the intake would have to be changed too.

It's probably obvious, but I know next to nothing about rotary engines except the principle. What engine would be good for this swap? Where would be a good place to get one? What kind of vehicle did they come in? I think I'd like to start with a carbureted version. I have a couple trannys, an '84 4.10 4-speed, and an '85 3.35 5-speed. The 4 speed would be stronger.

Thanks for any thoughts or ideas.

Im just throwing out idea's its been done so obviusly where not just daydreaming
