Yes, that's what "open" means. None of the RX-3SP's came from the factory with an LSD.

Just to add in.

The SP's came with short pinion shaft which will allow you to upgrade to an 81-83 GSL 3rd member. In addition, the SP version came with thicker driveshaft.

The non-SP's 3rd member can be upgraded also, just like the SP, but since it has long-pinion, you will need to extend or mod the driveshaft.

AND FINALLY, my buddy will be selling his 73 RX-3 in the next few months. So if anyone is interested, let me know. This car is in SOCAL.

Good to see, I'm sure that this will become the next father and son project. I just wish my uncle/dad would've brought home a rotary like that one day.

congrats on the car and good luck.

Thats funny.

I live in WA state and bought three SP's in CA this year and you live there and buy one up here.....

I even picked up a silver one last month in San Jose!!!!and a blue one and a yellow one! In fact all in the San jose area... and three orange ones in WA state.

All 1977's, all bought this year.

I sell the SP stripe kit if you need a perfect repro for your car...... let me know...

So Markeddief, I saw that in one of your pictures there was a cop car behind the Rx2. Were you getting pulled over, or are you (or one of your neighbors) a cop? By the way, those are some great looking cars. I could only hope I have some old school rotaries in my garage when I buy my own house, at least that don't end in the number 7.

Very nice.

I think some people underestimate what it's like to not really ever have a Dad figure around. You miss out on a lot of things...

Enjoy all three man.

looks like you need some por 15 in that engine bay, and maybe a little frame rail welding
but you found some nice cars, I can't wait to see more pics

Let's see, how should I answer that one? Well let me put it this way, I wasn't getting pulled over Ü. Look closely at the rest of the pics and tell me what you think. Hint: My profile lists, "You don't want to know." where it asks your occupation.

Thanks Lex. God, Family, and Old School Rotaries in that order. I plan to make the most out of all of them.
Peace!

Thanks! What's "por 15"? I'm trying to find someone reputable to do a resto or at least seriously clean up the body on the SP. I was beginning to wonder if I bit off more rust than I can chew. What do you think?

Yeah, Arnel. My lone SP needs an identical twin; it's lonely. You want to work something out? LOL

Can anyone recommend someone good in Cali to take care of the rust removal, body work and paint on the SP?
