I generally have people that keep look out on old school cars for me. This was found in June. It has been sitting since the early 80s but is 100 bone stock and complete.
Now the bad, I talk to them on Friday and drive 2 1/2 hours to get to the car. The car was being moved from one part of the yard to the other. As I have come to find out, it was mistaken for a car that was going to get crushed. They had put another car on top of it and between two cars. The one redeeming quality was that it had clean panels and zero rust from being in the desert. Now, the roof and c pillar have signifigant damage and the sides have some dents. I was sick and didnt take any picks as I stood there.
Now I have been kicking it around all weekend, A friend in Sac has a shell with a clean roof and panels (thanks for looking out MIKE). I know the driver door is toast but have access to one also. I just HATE to see it get crushed. How far gone has anyone brought one back from? Was thinking about cutting the roof at the base of the c pillars from the donor car. Need to look close at the rear quarters but might be able to massage those out.
