Exhaust flexible pipe. Will it survive?

For my transversal mid-engined car i am making a new header.

Need some kind of flexibility between header and muffler.
I wonder if i can use one of these

Can these flexi's stand the heat of the exhaust gas?

Thanks wackyracer,I can tell you that they will hold up for a while, but that is a very hot spot to put the joint. You are joining to flame throwers into one.The only thing i can suggest is to try it and have extras with you.I have tried everything in many years and the rotary is the most difficult exhaust killer of all time.

The other exhaust joint you can try is,some FWD cars use a spring loaded flange with a metal ring gasket like a half donut shape. It may hold up more heat because some of these exhaust joints have a metal liner to hold the donut shape metal gasket in place.

Can you hard mount the engine in the Matra? Or stiffen the rubber between the engine mount and chassis? If the engine moves less, there is less need for a flex pipe.

Thanks guys!

I just gonna try it. I found some ilok lined flex (whatever that is) that claimed to resist upto 1100 degrees celsius. (2000 farhenheit). Hard to believe. Cheap to.

Gonna mount it with clambs, so it is easy to replace.......

Making the enginemounts stiffer is a good idea. another job todo

Yep, stiffer is better. My MG Midget 13B project moves too far and hits the frame rails on both sides. Rubs inside the tranny tunnel too. I think I'll try a torque brace and/or hockey pucks.
