Which engine?

I'm just about ready to go shopping for a motor/tranny for my 67 datsun roadster and was hoping for some feedback as far as which engine to use. What I'm considering is either a carbed 4 port 13B, a n/a S5, or a TII. I'm not looking for gobs of hp(god I'm getting old!) but just a reliable motor that can get the roadster out of it's own way quickly(and spanking a Honda or two would also be nice!). I was going to stroke the original pushrod motor but after pricing parts and machining and seeing what the price of a JDM rotary is going for, the decision to swap was quite simple. The only rotaries I have had any experience with were 1st gen RX7s belonging to an ex-girlfriend and my brother's and boy, were those 12As were smooth! Hmmmm, maybe a 12A?!? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

id go with a 4 port 13b with a good carb and exhaust system. 12a would work for you but the 13b has a bit more power. If i had the money i would go buy a ported motor to get even more out of it. I have eard of something which i want to look into which is called a superbee 13b. supposed to be a 13b motor ported and upgraded for the power and to get better gas milage. anybody else know about this. lates matt22
