Angry Emission Test "FAILED"

Today I went in for emission testing. I had no problems with carbon monoxide the requirement is 3.0 and I passed with 0.4. What failed was a surprise but not really due to rotaries reputations. The HC(Hydrocarbons) was 476 when in order to pass it needs to be below 300, basically they explain it's unburned fuel. I adjusted the mixture as low as possible before the test and I put in new plugs, wires, air filter, oil filter, distributor, rotor, and fuel filter. I have a strong belief there is a vacuum leak. What else could cause this to be so high?

A vacuum leak might run it rich, so you might be right. Personally, I would run the tank ALL the way down and burn a bottle or two of isopropyl alcohol. Take a gas can with you too, and dilute the alcohol again once you pass. Then just hit up the first gas station you see and make sure to fill up the tank. The alcohol will burn a lot cleaner and should get you through without much trouble.

A vac leak will couse a lean run, the air pump needs to be working and the deverter valve has to send the air to the cat so when the fresh air meat the unburned fuel in the cat it will lite off, but the cat need to have storege ablity witch means it can hold O2 until the HC2 comes by and with the heat of the cat start the fire " lite off " and thouse no HC2 out the tail pipe

lol, yup, just slap that alcohol in it, it will burn everything so clean, theyre wont be emissions, haha

also, if the problems is oil burning and goiung out the exhaust, try a thicker oil.
