does anyone know anything....

About the rx3 exhaust system and thremal reactor? the air pipe is toast do I need it? the rest can be patched , but the air pipe stops me , can I use flex pipe to run it to the back ? or must I go with steel and joints? I think this is to quiet it mostly. how is it hooked together at the thermal reactor?? HELP

Well, you need SOME kind of pipe to exhaust the cooling air, but since it's not exposed to the extreme temperatures as the actual exhaust pipe, you should be able to use just about anything as long as you don't have undue restriction. Also, since the original has a little muffler on it, you may get some noise increase if you don't employ some sort of muffler.
The cooling air exhaust pipe connects to the downpipe which is connected directly to the thermal reactor's outlet.

One more little word of advice: the gratuitous use of profanity makes one look ignorant. I feel stupid even replying to it.

wankel guy. mostly we agree. you did not reply to me previously, I know the diff between a muffler and a catalytic , I have been under the car , I have a stub of some pipe sticking out alongside the exhaust pipe. thank you for telling me that the heat generated here will not require stainless. Thank you for the designation , downpipe. In your eyes I probably am ignorant, and also frustrated. and you have my profound apologies for what you refer to as gratuitous profanity. thank you for spelling it correctly.Proably a mower muffler would work. from your reply to the previous person that you were blunt with. I felt that you might know the information that I was after. 20 years with wankels should leave you well grounded . Thank you . Bob
