Cosmo 929 swap?

I searched alot today about this and I didn't find anything at all.

I know the 929's in the late 80's (Luce overseas) could be had with the 13bt in them. The next generation 90-95's did not, but were still RWD and all that goodness.

So I wonder how hard it would be to swap one of those 929's??

I am also thinking 20b instead of the 13bt for several reasons.
1) much larger vehicle
2) automatic will work better (possibly run stock 20b ECU?)
3) alot of room under the hood, why waste it!!
4) 20B POWA!!!!

The only reason I am even contemplating this is because there is one up the street from me in MINT condition except the engine is worn out and smokes. I can get it for nothing.

I am starting to feel a little weird, like I need to do this. Plus it will fit into my stable:
1) 1990 FC
2) 1989 626 GT
3) 1999 Millenia
4) 1994 929????

Oh yeah, one more thing, it WHITE just like all my other cars!!!!!

Discuss.

This is something I really wanted to try! The 929 would be a nice sharp sleeper with a 20B in it. It may be possible some cosmo parts such as suspension, and maybe even rear end are used in the 929. Go to yahoo japan auctions, and type in JC cosmo and that is where I found complete front and rear subframe pictures. Maybe some cross references of the 929 front and rear subframes will shed some light on the likeness. Either way, even if nothing is the same, a 20b definitely will fit in there, some custom mounts, and custom driveshaft, nothing too hard to do! Let us know if you get it and start the transformation, I would love to see the results.

Yes, I saved my college car (tripple tranquil blue 1989 929 with leather) specifically to do a HC Cosmo conversion. Here's where it get's a bit weird though. I thought about buying the nicer a 929-S body, but from all the pictures I can find the j-spec "HC Cosmo crown royal" and other rotary versions of the HC Cosmo were based on the regular 929 body, no extra cladding or body moldings. What differs is a slightly taller hood to accomodate the TMIC intake and digital climate control options. Also the ride height was different I believe.

Also the 5 speed + digital instrument version of the 929 was special order only, so you won't find one in autotrader.
