OS engines are sold by Graupner in Europe, don't know about USA. You can find them on ebay from time to time. Check the german ebaysite, and you're going to find a few.

Hey! That's my engine and my thread in the RX8 forum. I was gonna post it here too but I see you beat me to it. I bought two of them and I was planning to join them and build a custom two rotor version. Now I need porting advise, any peripheral port experts here?

And they are for sale in several hobby stores like www.towerhobbies.com (search for wankel) but are quite expensive. I found two on ebay for a little bit over the regular price of one.

Yeah, maybe trying to square the corners off a bit and extend the sides of the ports towards the edges of the housing. I wonder how much airflow the little OS carb will cope with...

with the OS motor, i'd shave off the fins and fil in the space so that it looks like a regular housing, then mount it al up with a manual crank so i can turn it over. like the exploded engines mazda sent to dealers. would be awesome (either that of fab a new eccentric shaft, bolf em together with some form of middle plate and have a 2 rotor)

They have been out for a good amount of time. I am big into rc and remember a article in rc car action when they took the airplane rotary and put it in a rc truck said it ran good and no vaibrations but only reving in the 13,000-14,000rpm and about 1.5 hp my race engine piston powered revs around 40,000rpm and about 2.0hp. They are pretty cool and can be found at towerhobbies.com along with all of you fun money spending toys. I put as much money into my little rc car as i have into my turbo 2

I was trying to post and realized I was on the rx-8 forum......opps. Well I was wondering why these engines dont need the side seals? I though under any circumstance they needed to properly seal the sides also?

the sealing surface is so small, that the oil in the premix actually seals it to the point where it has compression.. pretty cool huh? the piston r/c engines don't have rings, they rely on oil just the same!
