Well now that's about as cool as it gets. I gave up on my '78 MGB because I got tired of the repairs every weekend, switched to FB's. But that might just be the way to keep a B alive. Very very nice.

Wow the MGB is roomy. I stuffed a 13B with old school ribcase tranny in an MG Midget. Yeah, the big case tranny. 2.5mm or less clearance is the rule rather than the exception lol, and that's after giving it some love with a hammer.

Did you use a header or 12a manifold? Please post some pics of that area.

Yeah in the first pic it looks like the extractors have nowhere to run, such a thin engine bay.

Awsome project!!!

Yeah that was a hard part. You'll notice in the second pic up from the bottom the big galvanized thick pipe... that is a short stub off of a home made manifold. Not near enough room to get a header in there never mind a stock manifold. The ports come out about 2.5" from the "frame" for the front port and about 3.5" for the rear one. After I stuck the engine in I measured up the gap and made one out of 1/4 and 3/8" plate and square tube. I should of taken a picture of it ... lots of work. My solid front engine mount helped out a lot, made it so I could make it a close fit. I'll try to get some kind of picture of it when I get back to town.

Have to have the intake off to get at it ... no way around that though.
