Big Smoke....
Well, I guess I am going to start my "Turbo 2" project sooner than I had wanted. I picked up a 4 door rx2 a couple months ago and got it back running. I had planned on doing a frame up with a turbo II this summer.
Last night I got big smoke from under the dash and by the time I could get the pos. battery terminal disconnected it had fried the harness. I now have one big wire from the front to the back rather than a loom of wires. When you put the terminal back on the battery everything starts working.....head lights, starter, seat belt warning light (which has not worked since I got it). I guess the only funny thing about it is when you want to start it you just connect the battery, hop in and give it a little gas! The starter never stops turning though.
Anyways, I have a spare harness. I just would rather not put it in until I chase down the problem. Not a simple task so I figure why not tear it down and start from a shell now.
Man was she running sweet....Anyone in the market for a dual distributor motor, with a complete spare core? I also have a SP 5 speed that could go with it.
I had to vent.
