Best Tires - Stock RX2 Wheels

^^^ NOW there is a problem.

Going to be ROAD RACING our shitty RX2 in the 24 Hours of Lemons in about a month.

Running out of cash so decided to roll with the stock 13" skinny-minnnie wheels - especially since nothing bigger can be found for relatively cheap. 14" or 15" 4x110 wheels are practically non-existant. I can't even find any other car manufacturer that used this pattern... except for some ATV makers.

SO, one thing that 24 Hours of Lemons does allow is upgrading the tires to a 190 treadwear or higher.

I know I will find no Falken Azenis or Dunlop Star Specs.... so much for plan A and plan B.

Plan Z it is! What size and brand tires should I rock on the RX2?

HELP!

Okay - no advice so far.

Let me ask you old school guys this: What size tires do you run on your RX2 and how do they look?

I'm not even really sure what size tires are SUPPOSED to be on the RX2.

Some research shows they came with 165 SR13's - I'm guessing this is a metric tire where the aspect ratio is 100%. I cannot find something in this size.

The old rotten **** on the RX2 now is 145SR13's - even the spare. They are itty bitty! Maybe someone replaced all five of them with this size?

Tire Rack and Discount Tire don't even SHOW an RX2 tire size but list 155 80 13's for the RX3 and RX4... this would be shorter than the 165 SR13's.

SO - anyone, what do you run on your RX2 and how do they look?

I think I'm going with a 175 / 70 / R13

They should fit the 4.5" rim okay, be a little wider than stock, and tire circumference is only 2" - ish less than the stocker so it won't look like a roller skate as bad.

This is what I'm lookin at:

RACE CAR TYREZ!!!!

^^^ So - do you think I can run a 175 wide tire without issue?

Of coarse, the tires that where on it before I got these new ones where 185/70R13. what matters is the weight rating from what I have understood.

we run as first-gen in LeMons and Chumpcar. the Falken Azeni and Dunlop Star Spec are the best tires, but the smallest diameter avail is 15", so we got a set of Konig Rewinds, avail for $440, shipped:

If you plan on running a few races with the car, it would be money well spent to get the 15" wheels so you can use the Falken or Dunlops. We run the Dunlop Star Spec in 205/50-15 on our first gen and are very happy with them.
