any interest in my 71 RX2

well the time has come that i need to part with my 71 RX2 coupe. its has a straight body, but no motor. a full 3inch exhaust ready for a 13b, and a tranny as well. interior would come with door panels and a cracked dash. I would prefer to sell the car outright, but i would part it out if i need to. as i would like to have a few spare parts myself. i will try to get photos up asap, and i will post a link to them as well. I will take offers on the car. There is currently no title for the car, but i will call the DMV and see if it has dropped off there system yet. as always if ya got questions jsut ask. lates matt22

Does this RX2 have a vented hood. All the other years have uncut slots the 71 is the only year I am aware of that actually has the slots cut out on the hood.

Put some pictures up so we can check it out.

Thanks

a 71 without vented hood? Weird, someone must have swapped it at some point.

Out of Your Mind ?????

Are you nuts???? you can get a lot of money for that car, and don't even think about selling any more parts off it. A friend of mine is preparing one for shipment to New Zealand, complete and running with no better body than yours, and got $4500 for it. The folks in Puerto Rico will also pay a lot for it. They would want it for a drag racer and don't really care if it has an engine. You need to do some research before you get screwed out of it. I would buy it from you myself, but I got too many projects right now. I am not suggesting you can get rich here, but don't give that thing away, and definitely don't take any more parts off.

I have the rear bumper and a couple sets of tail lights, along with an extra rear shell. I saved these parts from the crusher years ago. I took the attached photo two days ago, sent it to New Zealand, waiting to see if it should be shipped with the car as spares.

Incidentally, you might be interested to see what I did with an RX-2 that was going to be scrapped back in 1990. The attached photo shows a red convertible I built from a 1984 RX-7, with the RX-2 rear shell, trunk lid, lights and bumper. I have been saving the other rear shell in case I might want to make another one.

4500.00??? There's at least 1/2 a dozen RX2's on ebay right now that are runnin that you could purchase for that price. If there so popular over in New Zealand & Puerto Rico why don't they buy all the Rotaries that come up on Ebay? Matt had his deuce up on Ebay once before & couldn't get anyone to bite for any real type of number.Just my opinion.

BTW........ That RX27 is Hot!!!!!!!!! Great Job!!!

umm mayeb i will jsut part it out. any interest in that. it has what seems to be good shocks. i will get drop height when i press down on it soon, and compare it to my 72 which rides great. there are some great steel rims lol. interior door panels (71 style fronts) rear i think are the same. partial dash pieces, heater control. side and rear glass. most of the chrome pieces, headlight buckets, complete rear end, all front suspension. doors, truck lid, interior sheetmetal, a ton of parts. I am gonna want to confirm as many parts as possible to start that process.
