Thank you very much. I appreciate the help you've given me in this regard.

I just found another post-'73 grille out in the shed that is even nicer, but it has a different center emblem and no provision for a "Rotary Engine" emblem. Any idea what year it might be? -Mike

It's probably a 73 or 72. The center emblem should be a little larger and have an "RE" on top? I sold an almost mint 73 grill emblem for 122.00 by itself. I had a reserve of 120.00 on it.

It's not a '72 or '73, I'm sure of that. The early ones are quite different, I've also got a couple of those. I'm wondering if it isn't from a later model 808, as it has no rotor shaped design anywhere on it. It also has the old "M" design in the middle of the emblem. I'll take a pic and post it on this thread.

Yup, that's an 808 grill. Probably a 76 or later. Should be the same as the rx3 except for the badge. You should get some good money for that as well. I'm sure the rx3 badge could be swapped onto it.

I'm pretty sure I got that 808 grille at an all-you-can-carry-for-$25 day at a junkyard that was going out of business. That junkyard had a nice '72 RX2 coupe, A good early model 808, a later 808, and an RX4 4-door, all fairly complete! I had asked about some grilles and stuff a few months before and the guy wanted like $30 each for grilles, fenders, etc. which seemed kinda high to me. So when the sale day came a few months later, I scored all the grilles, some RX2 taillights, an RX2 top-mount starter, an RX2 hood, a pair of 808 fenders, an 808 hood, an 808 trunk lid, some emblems, and some various interior pieces all for $25. I had to carry all that stuff unaided for a distance of ten feet, which they had thoughtfully marked off with spray paint. I had found some primary wire in the yard and used some to tie things together so I could sling them over my shoulder.
I had to hold the hood straight out in front of me as I had stuff piled on top of it. The fenders were under my arms, and I even had a '74 RX4 grille tied to my head!
But I made it the ten feet carrying all that stuff, I'm sure it was very entertaining for the onlookers.

Daaaam, sounds like a blast! You were lucky to find that kind of stuff. I think I would of vomited though If I dropped a rx3 or rx2 grill or hood and it cracked!

nope, sure don't want to flood the market. I never list a rare old school rotary item if I see another one for sale and I hope others would do the same if I was selling something. The good thing about these parts are that the longer you hold them, the more there worth Probably sell for 1,000 in 10 yrs

Yeah, I'm going to wait a week or so to list any more grilles so that the market doesn't get flooded.

Ok, did my courtesy check on ebay for any similar items and didn't see any grille's on there so I went ahead and posted this clean 808 grill. Not expecting the 350.00 like I got for the last 75 Rx-3 grill but you never know..... Reserve's at 150.00

Damn, that looks just like mine!

I got dibs on next listing, lol.

The guy that bought my RX3 grille also wanted a set of headlight surrounds, so I told him $80 + shipping. Probably coulda got more listing 'em on the 'Bay, but he was such a nice guy I wanted to give him a little better deal.

Yup, you got it. This is the last of my 74-later grille's. I have a couple 72-73 grilles that I need to sell. I have so many parts lying around it's crazy.
