Just took delivery of the big girl yesterday! It was absolutely filthy, but more importantly it wasn't missing any parts, and there weren't any new dings or scratches.

Taken earlier today after rearranging the vehicles. Can you believe the FB is only 5 years older than the Cosmo?!

Well small update, spent 5 hours at the DMV Monday but the Cosmo is finally road legal! Pretty easy process getting it titled and registered, just had double and triple check all my paperwork was in order.
So far after 2 days of driving it to work it seems to mostly fly under the radar.
Had one random guy talk to me at a stoplight and actually asked if it had a 20B in it, which was surprising.

Hey man if you ever decide to bring the car to Vegas since you're in AZ there is a decent size group of us rotor heads out here. Look us up on facebook when you get the chance. Las Vegas All Rotary. Would love to see this thing in person. Absolutely a beautiful car!

Another small update, so the car has been legal about 2 weeks now and is doing great. Gotten a handful of "nice car" and questions about being RHD so far.
The most memorable, although probably not the most quality, happened last night. A guy who was in what I think was a newer Dodge Dart pulled up to the me at a stoplight and yelled over my way, "Yo bro, nice car bro!". Chucked the deuces and and drove away. He was wearing a flat brim hat with a hoodie and the hood pulled over his hat. He was bumpin' some trap music and dude was white as snow. That was the most Tucson moment I've had since I've been back, LOL!!!
Anyways! The car is doing great, I've driven it had up the local mountain a couple of times now. I've noted a few problems that need some upgrading. My oil cooling isn't that great when continuously running it hard. It cools down very fast once I baby it, but constant high RPM's in 3rd gear get the oil super hot. Somewhere down the road I'm going to plan to go with dual oil coolers and hopefully incorporate the stock cooler ducts.
The other problem was the 1st weekend I drove it hard I was having a hell of time getting the damn transmission to downshift from 4th to 3rd. I accredit most of it to the short shifter, which I've adjusted to feel much better now, but heat definitely played a role in the issue. Since it's not a track car, I ruled out drilling and tapping a external trans cooler, and Google transmission pan fins. I ended up settling on the Super Now anodized finned pan. I think this should help out for now.

This evening I spent some time cleaning up the engine bay a bit. I've never really felt the urge to clean it up in the past, but showing the engine to a few curious people lately made me realize how filthy it was. Much better now I think!

Thanks! It's definitely been an ongoing adventure.
Another small update, changed the engine and transmission oils. Also installed the SuperNow transmission cooling plate, very simple install.

Also finally got my customized plate in!

Next big thing is to start saving up for a standalone ECU. Turblown is working on an Adaptronics install in another 20B Cosmo and it looks like they're trying to work a plug and play harness for it too. If all goes well with that I'll be looking to pull the trigger on that set up and have them do a remote tune. Maybe after tax returns I can make it happen.

Finally got to a HPDE last Sunday. Car did decent, didn't kill itself and was consistent for most of the day. I was having trouble keeping the oil temps down and everyone was telling me the car was constantly shooting giant fireballs. I really want to get that standalone and getting it running more efficient!
Next event I'm going to reroute my windshield wiper hoses to spray water over my oil cooler and see if that helps keep my temps down. I'm also going to look at investing in a 2nd set of wheel and tires for the track. Pretty much all the guys faster than me were in much lighter cars and had semi-slicks.
It was fun none the less, but just showed me how much more the car needs even though it's not exactly in it's element.

Well, as much as I've tried to hold out, I may have to sell the Cosmo. It's last resort sort of thing, so details to come this weekend if anyone is interested.
