76 RX-3 Build
I do plan on using that front inspection plate on the FD for transplanting the shifter. I assume I will still have to use a bent long throw shifter though. Still need to do a full mock up of the driveline to confirm location of everything.
I have a few rx-3 parts on ebay right now.
They aren't in perfect condition, but may be something you could work with.

Well first rail is out. The new rail is a 2x3 11 gauge from Autoweld with a 3" rise. Will be cutting the floor and then reinforcing with angles at the spot welds. Also plan on making out riggers to the pinch weld.

Wondering what everyone does in regards to running flares and a wider track. I really hate to do it but trying to figure out if I need to remove the rear quarter oe flares and how to stitch it back together.
I forgot how much i disliked thar butterscotch color. I had a '76 just like it. My wife drove it (we had enough money for a second car) and i had my '72 4 door blue RX-3. I got a '77 RX3SP the next year and in '78 got a new RX7. As i recall the 76 was a real lemon. Had the Free Maintenance program on that one and it cost Mazda about $2000 .
Something needed changing every 2 or 3 months.

Drilled and welded thread bungs for the subframe mounting. Will use a plate with these bosses to help align the frame rails for welding into the chassis. The plate will then be used to figure the subframe for welding.
Been a while since I updated frame rails are partially welded in. I have started my suspension mounting with a big change to a triangulated 4 link from welder series. After the flex-form spring debacle. I worked out a way to get the triangulated bars in a good spot without rear seat tear up. Also working on getting a heavier plate in stalled for upper control arm mounting tying into the firewall and front clip. I think rim and tire size will be the 15x8/15x9's with 225 and 245 RS4's. Hopefully with the low offset they will fit over the FD brakes.
