74 REPU Auto to Manual Swap Help
Hey guys,
I have been searching around but specific info on this for a REPU specific application is kind of rare.
I have a 74 REPU with the 3-speed auto. I'm wanting to do a manual transmission conversion and wondering who else has undertaken this project with a REPU or other vintage Mazda?
Obviously I know I need:
REPU manual gearbox, slave cylinder, hydraulics, clutch and flywheel.
I've also gathered that the early 1st gen/SA gearboxes seem to bolt up and land the shifter in the correct location. I'm assuming RX2/3/4 gearboxes would work as well?
I know any 13B style manual will bolt up but anything past an SA gearbox will push the shifter deep into the cab and interfere with the stock bench seat; which will most likely be replaced with buckets anyways. These FC and FD gearboxes are much easier to come by, however, so I'm leaning towards running one of these.
Clutch pedal; this part is tricky, so far I can't find any REPU clutch pedal assemblies. Is there another way around this? I've also tried looking for Ford Courier clutch pedals...will those bolt up? Last option is a universal clutch pedal or all 3 pedal assembly which is pricey and lots more work.
Driveshaft: I can't find any solid info on this; is the auto driveshaft the same length as the manual? If anyone has dimensions on the manual driveshaft that would be a big help. Otherwise I'm stuck trying to find a manual REPU driveshaft (impossible) or get mine shorten/lengthen to match. Is the FD gearbox shorter/longer?
Starter: Would I need a manual trans starter motor or will my existing auto starter motor work?
If anyone has anymore info on this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

No luck scouring the internet for a clutch pedal. That's another big hurdle.
Thanks
