OMG, first time I have seen a US spec 1200 coupe....

1200 and 1300 are very similar, surprisingly, that 1200 has the 1300 dash setup in it, and I would say its standard, being a '71, I think they discontinued 1200's in Australia in 1970 and replaced with 1300's.
also has 1300 style bonnet..umm hood? on it, as the 1200 itenms in aust are straight edged along the front, and it seems to have RX-3 looking side repeaters/reflectors.. hmm interesting.

and yes, they are very common for rust in the battery side chassis rails (left for 1200/1300 right for R100)

oh and I could possibly have a window reg for you, but its in australia.. by drivers side you mean left

oh for you I would say take it back to stock and resto it. reason being most early 70's mazda's in the US I have seen tend to be the genuine rotary article, therefore a piston powered oldskool mazda would be very rare.

oh and if you like to know anything, ask me, I have 3 1300 sedans at the moment

small question, are the indicators, parking lights in the front bumper all yellow or are they half yellow half clear?
any possibility of getting a pic from straight on at the front.?

main points of interest, does it have all yellow indicators, and are the headlights square or round?

just want to find out a bit about the US spec models.

All indicators and parking lights are completely yellow except for the 2 rear parking lights which are red, round headlights. This is the best front on photo I've got, though I can easily take another:

Yes I need a left side window regulator. I recently took my '75 REPU door apart and found that the regulator looks similar but I'm not sure it will fit the 1200. Still need to look into that.

hey man, that front pic is just fine for what I wanted to know.

does anyone know where I could get a good grille for one of the american 1200's? also a pair of the indicators in the front bumper. I would love to convert the front end of mine over to the US spec, it looks much better, I'll see if I can find a pic of one obver here and show you the difference, basically we have a white section in the bumper lights, for parkers and the turn signal is yellow, and we also have rectangular headlights.

Hey Rota... did you know the US R100's came with these round headlight front ends? They look real different to ours don't they - especially around the headlights.
Like the pick of my car in Kick's post... it's da buzz-bomb.

note the red battery cut out key on the rear panel next to left hand side tail lights... not a factory option. Nor the 3" tip.

yeah they sure look different buzz.. kind of wierd, they got the early ones with round headlights, we only got the later ones with the round lights, like yours.

I want to do the round headlights nto my 1970 model, would certainly be different, oh and I know a few people that would like to get a set of them all yellow indicators, I know I would.

s2-13bT - it's as much a piece of sh!it in real life as it looks... its even the right colour! but it goes kinda well. If I can get some noise out of it this week (I've a WRX rear muffler for it...) I'll bring it to the cruise. I'm keeping it off the roads due to the "engineering" issue...
Hope to get some s2 rims on it this week as well.

Kick and others, for pics of cool old Aussie rotors being driven hard, or even just lookin' pretty, go to www.fullboost.com.au . there is a big article on that red R100 pictured above (ran 9's on 235/60/14 "street" tires)
