im looking at all the old rx's and was wondering why there is a gap from rx4 to rx 7?

There was an RX-5 Cosmo, and Mazda felt that RX-6 didn't exactly roll off the tongue, so they skipped it.

The '76 Cosmo was known as RX-6 in some markets. Mazda's naming scheme has always perplexed me.
