Assembled the engine, with no issues at all. From putting the front plate down on the assembly table to bolting on the rear counterweight it took only 4 hours. The assembly was done by myself so used a car jack to set the e shaft height to get the center plate on. Turns overs nicely with all pulses sounding even. Photo quality is a bit average, my hands were covered in oil the whole time.

I purchased a 1200mm x 400mm plate of 6061 T6 to make the transmission adapter and oil pan out of.
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7155f6ba0f.jpg Its really heavy, weighs about 33kgs. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...ca3e473d2b.jpg The plate is 1 inch thick which makes it difficult to cut on a band saw. I used a 64 tooth carbide tipped circular saw blade designed for aluminium. To make the 400mm cut above it only took about 3mins. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...f80bae42f1.jpg Getting the plate to thickness for trans adapter https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d609987d55.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7b29209812.jpg |

Because the car is so light now being completely stripped out the suspension was sitting way too high. So purchased some D2 adjustable coilovers. Fitted them in about 3 hours with no issues which was a surprise.
They are made in Taiwan but the quality seems good. Not really too many options out there for Cosmo suspension. By the way the wheels are Work Emotion D9R 18x8.5 +38 front and 18x9.5 +38 rear. Front tyres are 235 Goodrides haha and rears are 255 Nitto Invos. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...1530681d88.jpg Towed the car out of the tent with the mighty Honda. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...dd431c78b5.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...5976abdb6e.jpg Before https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...c05be8c4cf.jpg After. The rear can go lower once the inner guard lip has been rolled. |
Taiwan has some pretty good manufacture these days.

Aragosta makes coilovers for us, if you ever see a used set in good condition I'd highly recommend getting them. The set I have now are 4th different set of brand coilovers I've tried and they are phenomenal.

Haven't really achieved much on the 4 rotor. Been busy fitting a new turbo to my rx7.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...4b6aa71878.jpg Started making the sump. Used building paper as a template which wasn't the best idea. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7aa073a466.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...fe435a8ac4.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...bcbd0ffd6f.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d9c2a17d84.jpg A few of the holes required a bit of massaging, but overall turned out good. Still need to machine out baffles and oil pick up points. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...21ba376900.jpg The engine bay of the rx7. Its a 1986 FC. Extend port, garrett gt3582r. 360rwhp. First rotary i have built, 20000kms later still going hard. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...d36376844e.jpg |
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0faeca4d1c.jpg
