1974 rx4 conversion

1974 rx4 conversion

have what looks like a water temp sensor under oil pressure sensor, i need help to confirm identity, oil filter perch is just above oil press sender, below the sensor is a 5/8 heater like hose that bypasses to water pump return. sensor only has single pin connection, flat copper washer for seal, can someone identify this without posting pic?

sounds like water temp sensor.

water temp sensor could be near t-stat housing for better accuracy, but rotary motors im not sure about prime location for placement,

the temp sensor for the temp gauge is located on the rear housing just below and to the left of the oil pressure switch. threads into the housing at like a 45 degree angle with a bullet style connector.
