My 83 has an exhaust leak ...since replacing the muffler costs money does it cost much more to do a catback?
Can one buy one of these hedders used?

I am not a big poster but I do love my car.

Does anyone have any suggestions for tires? I need new ones....these lay too much rubber.

New OEM mufflers are ridiculously expensive. I wouldn't bother. If you want to keep it quiet and stock-looking while flowing and sounding a bit better, go for a Racing Beat muffler. If you want a bit more and feel like deleting your emissions equipment, go for the full Racing Beat "streetport" system. Fantastic quality and a very nice power increase, while not being too loud. Their non-streetport system is cheaper and almost as quiet as stock (seriously), but doesn't flow nearly as well as the streetport system.

Used Racing Beat headers come up for sale quite often, and the things last forever. They won't bolt to the stock cat, though, so there would be some fabrication involved if you want to keep your emissions equipment. Stay away from Pacesetter headers unless you can get one for free, because that's about what they're worth.

For the tires: Sumitomo HTR 200 in 205/60/13. I love mine; cheap and sticky.

Thanks for the good info...the racing beat sounds up my alley...I need to have it installed..no big deal.
.I appreciate a good machine but I don't want to be too noisey...I will check their site...I do want a good
deal...the tires you mentioned are for racing? I am more of a touring person.

Thanks

They're street tires. They perform remarkably well in the wet. Don't think I'd try to use them in snow, but who drives an RX-7 in the snow, anyway?

Here's what the RB "streetport" system sounds like, if you're curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3rHePqxw8Q

WA muffler and donuts

Good heavens you and your car are agile....that is why you like those tires.

I called racing beat today and their power pulse muffler is about right for me. It adds about 7 horses of power
which is fine for me. So that is what I am going to do for muffler,,,

Do you go through many sets of tires?

That's not actually my car; it was a friend's before he sold it to another member here. Mine is white, and it has a turbo so no bolt-on exhausts for me. Racing Beat's full systems are a little too quiet for my taste anyway.

WA racing beat muffler

Hi Kettleman. I called racing beat and their Power Pulse muffler for my car is just the ticket. I called Jeff and will
most likely have it done in the next week or so. It isn't terribly expensive and it adds 5 hp.

I need to pick up some rear tires. It seams the 13 inch are not very popular anymore. I don't mind used if they
are good.
