The car is in Canada. Good luck getting it registered in the US. If it was possible, I'd buy that thing in a heartbeat. Talk about an epic daily driver.

I'd just drive it while I played "riding dirty" on repeat. But I'd put a 5 speed in it asap.

Heck, if nothing else, I'd garage it for the next four years and four months.

I don't understand how that will fix anything. Care to elaborate? I am obviously missing something here.

Where did you read such a thing? I've heard this is the case for canada, (heard it was 20 years) but Ive never heard that the 25 year rule in Washington had any baring at all on registering a JDM car.

Any info would be appreciated.

You can register/import any car after 25 years less hulabaloo i.e. safety tests and standards insurance etc. etc.

Some light reading http://www.bordercenter.org/chem/vehicles.htm

I was aware of the 25 year emissions rule, but this is the piece of info I was looking for:

"Motor vehicles not more than 25 years old must conform to the Department of Transportation (DOT) motor vehicle safety standards that were in effect when these vehicles were manufactured. "

Thanks for finding that website. 2015 will be the year of the JC cosmo!

^^ not as simple as that. Alot of people have brought up the idea, of import it to canada first, and then import it to the US, and it just doesn't work that way.

Believe me, from my understanding there are only 3 registered JC cosmo's in the US. They all likely got in through some loophole, or someone cooking the books on the registration process.

If you could do the canada trick, we'd be seeing significantly more imports in the US, and we don't.

i have spent six months trying to get a car from out of states... ITS NOT POSSIBLE! Dont waste your time trying, its best to build it or if the 2015 thing is true, it can be imported then, but only then it seems.. Its lame..
