WHy wont engine separate from Trany? auto

Hey once agian the heat and stress has stopped me from finishing my car, I thought i was going to have a break down.. I have all the Trany bolts and engine mount bolts off! Is there a trick to getting the AUTO tranny separated? like having to undo the fly wheel thru this little trap door? or should it separate? i am lost, please any help would be great.. i have the engine crane over the engine now.. just cant get it out

thanks .

All I do is lift up the motor, enough so the mounts are disconected. A good sized prybar is needed to seperate the engine and tranny. Make sure you have all 6 bolts gone, and the starter removed.

looks like this is going to be a pain to line back up and put the bolts back in with very little room to the flex plate..

had trouble with mine a while ago. If your 100% certain everything is disconnected, take a come-along and connect it to the rear and pull on it slowly till you break the bead, then you should be able to drop it by hand.

Engine is now out. Thanks for all the tips, Helps alot. Its been a long time since i have worked with an auto tranny, so its alittle diffrent. But there was a hidden bolt to the right of the starter bolts. , But got it FInely, Btw i did it all myself, not easy, Broke the passenger side engine mount somehow.. god knows, so if anyone has one let me know, please. Also i could use some help wiring up the Mop lines. and a few other things im not sure about, and putting the engine back in, any help would be great. im thinking in the morning or late evening so its not so dang hot.. because i was like working on the car in 90f its a killer. thanks fellow rx7 owners if you are near bellevue and would like to help me get her on the road agian Please give me a call, 253-227-2180
