Who Wants What???

I have run across (Neighbor to my mom) an 88 GXL NA Rx7. The guy pulled the motor, radiator, oil cooler and all electronics for the engine and swapped them into a sand rail he made. It’s pretty tight actually. So he has the shell of a car and wants to get rid of it. The car has no title so I think the frame/chassis is just going to get crushed. But there are still many parts on it that could be used by others.

So who wants what?

I’ll be pulling parts off of it this weekend and can take pictures of the items. Then I’ll post them up for the world to view.

I’ll be pulling the:
Rear Diff
Struts and Springs (it has the electronic suspension control)
Wheels and Tires
Brakes (larger four piston calipers up front)

I'll post this in the For Sale Section once I have the parts in hand with pictures.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe, Does this car have the 5 lugs? I might be interested in the brake setup.

Yep. It even has cross drilled rotors. A touch rusty but that can be cleaned up with the pads or have them turned. I could pull the master cyclinder too.

I have not even looked at how much some of those parts are going for that you gave me. I'll do that today. And if you need the brakes I can give you what ever you need for free.

Red, Front bumper looks like it is in ok condition. I'll take a picture for you this Friday when I'm pulling parts off of it.

Got it. Yep, it's the GXL LSD. I could use the ABS pump as a trade. I'll do some home work and see how much a used diff goes for and how much the ABS pump goes for. But a straight across trade will probably be fine by me.

1seven4me: The diff is spoken for, if he falls through I'll let you know. The interior parts are pretty trashed. He pulled the whole dash out and through it in the rear hatch. The windows have been down durning the rainy season. But I can take some pictures tomorrow when I am out there pulling parts and let you decide.

Suprfast93: I have no idea how good or bad they maybe. When I pull them I will check for damage and any leaks from them. I can also do a sudo test of them by just trying to half compress them by hand. If I can't they may still be in pretty good shape. We can talk money after I/we determine the quality of the parts.

Z-beater: The front and rear brakes are yours. Front and rear calipers, front and rear disks, and the master cylinder. If I'm forgetting something, please let me know.

BTW: I'll ask him how many miles were on the car also, that may help determine what shape everything else might be in.

Thanks,
Joe

Thank Joe, I will look into what I need. I think that I will need everything because I am going to swap it over to a first gen.

Let me know when you are going to pull them I might be able to get out there and give you a helping hand.

I have tomorrow and Monday off. Four day weekend. Yeah baby!

So I'm pulling all this stuff tomorrow. I think he wants to haul the car off for scrap sometime next week.

Thanks for the offer but it might be too soon for you to make plans and also my Mom's house is way the **** out in Duvall and is a very long distance from you. I could use a hand though if you feel like making the trip. That would be very much appreciated. PM me if you can and I'll fire off her addy for you with a short list of directions.

Thanks

Well I'm taking off for the day, but I'll check in early tomorrow or later tonight.

The items that I'm pulling off the car are:
Everything brake related
Struts/Spring
Wheels/Tires
Rear Diff
Rear Glass w/ Wiper
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper

And I think that may be about it. If I see anything else that looks important or worth while I'll pull it. If you all think of something else let me know also so I can pull it.

I sent PMs to the two that offered to help. I'll be in touch by phone shortly.

Enjoy,
Joe
